This Cookie Policy explains how WavePillars uses cookies and similar technologies on wavepillars.com.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help sites function, remember preferences, or — with your consent — measure traffic and usage.
How we ask for consent
We display a cookie banner the first time you visit. Analytics scripts load only if you click Accept. If you click Reject, we do not load Google Analytics or Ahrefs Analytics. Your choice is stored in browser local storage under the key wp-cookie-consent.
You can change your choice by clearing site data in your browser; the banner will appear again on your next visit.
Cookies and storage we use
Strictly necessary
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
__cf_bm | Cloudflare | Bot management and abuse protection | Up to 30 minutes |
cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Security challenge verification (when shown) | Varies |
wp_google_session | WavePillars | Signed HttpOnly session after Google sign-in | Up to 7 days |
wp-cookie-consent | WavePillars (localStorage) | Stores your analytics consent choice | Until cleared |
Cloudflare may set additional technical cookies in connection with security features. See Cloudflare's cookie policy for details.
When you sign in with Google, we may also cache your email, name, and profile picture in browser local storage so the header can show your signed-in state without calling Google on every page load. You can clear this by signing out or clearing site data.
Analytics (only with consent)
If you accept analytics cookies, we may set or read cookies from:
| Provider | Purpose | More information |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Traffic and usage measurement | Google privacy policy |
| Ahrefs Analytics | Traffic and referral measurement | Ahrefs privacy policy |
Specific cookie names and durations are controlled by each provider and may change over time.
Server logs
Even when analytics are rejected, our hosting infrastructure may log technical request data (such as IP address and user agent) for security and reliability. This is described in our Privacy Policy.
Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect sign-in, security features, or consent storage.
Industry opt-out tools may also limit certain analytics where available.
Changes
We may update this policy when our use of cookies changes. Check the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
